North Central Heating - June 2017

North Central Heating was a major commercial renovation that took place on the frontage road in Smithers. NCH took over an existing older building and converted it into a beautiful new store front and warehouse. Smithers Regional Airport - November 2015

In 2015 the town of Smithers and the Regional Airport built a new storage facility to house equipment. BV Electric was successful in bidding this project and work in conjunction with Canadian Craftsmen in the successful completion of this great new facility. BV Electric completed all the electrical needed inside and out as well as all the lighting. Another project completed by our skilled electricians.

Scotiabank Smithers - Feb 2016

Located in the Smithers Mall Scotiabank's new location has been recently completed. We were the chosen electrical contractor to execute all the electrical needs during the build of this new state of the art Scotiabank Smithers. 

Chatters Food Inc - November 2015

Chatters Food Inc, a locally operated restaurant and pizza manufacturer has recently expanded their manufacturing division. This local success brings fresh and frozen pizza from their house to yours. They required our services to power their new manufacturing location. BV Electric got the job done quickly and now they are pumping out pizzas for all of the North West of BC. 

Pizza Hut Smithers - October 2015

Pizza has arrived in Smithers, BC with their new express location at the Smithers mall. BV Electric was the chosen electrical contractor to execute this project. We wired up this newly build portion of the mall and now Pizza Hut is up and running. Another satified commercial customer

McLymont Creek Hydroelectric Project

Located in British Columbia, approximately 1,000 kilometres (km) northwest of Vancouver, the proposed McLymont Creek Project is a run-of-river hydroelectric facility with a targeted output of 66 megawatts (MW).

The project will contribute to the Province of British Columbia’s goal to achieve energy self-sufficiency by 2016. The project will also help the Province meet its clean energy needs in an environmentally and socially responsible manner by offsetting the use of electricity generated from fossil fuels.

Forrest Kerr Hydroelectric Project - Complete November 2014

The Forrest Kerr project included the design, layout and installation of a complete electrical system for a 400 man construction camp North West of Smithers, BC. The system included two 450KW and one 500KW, 600V generators, wastewater and water treatment equipment, modular kitchen and dorms, fuel farm, and propane system.

BV Electric is proud to say we have been the single source electrical contractor on this project and we will see it from "Water to Wire". 

“Project Power” - May 22nd, 2015

Bell Mine Clarifier - Complete December 2014

This project for BV Electric was for the installation and wiring of the lighting on the 42m wide x 10m high Bell mine clarifier. This big structure was built to remove solids and sediment from the waste water.

Volcano Creek Hydroelectric Project

The project will capture the energy produced by the natural flow and elevation drop of the creek to produce and deliver clean, renewable power to BC Hydro through the Forrest Kerr 287-kV transmission system to the proposed BC Hydro Northwest Transmission Line (NTL) substation at Bob Quinn. All power produced will be sold to BC Hydro for distribution throughout the provincial power grid.

As part of the continuation of the Forest Kerr project BV Electric will be instrumental in servicing the electrical need for this Hydroelectric project. 

Upper Lillooet Hydroelectric Project - In Progress

The Upper Lillooet Hydro Project includes two run-of-river, clean energy generation facilities located in the Pemberton Valley:

81.4 MW Upper Lillooet River Hydroelectric Facility
25.3 MW Boulder (Pebble) Creek Hydroelectric Facility
Project location is shown on the overview map.

Each hydroelectric facility will divert partial flows from the river or creek, through an intake structure directly into a tunnel and/or penstock to the turbine(s) and generating equipment located in each separate powerhouse. The water will then be returned to each respective river/creek. Electricity generated by the hydroelectric facilities will be transmitted by a single 230 kV transmission line that will be constructed to connect the two hydroelectric facilities to the BC Hydro transmission system. The transmission line route does not pass through the Village of Pemberton. Click here for more information about run-of-river power.

Long Lake Hydroelectric Project - Complete Fall 2013

This project consisted of the supply and installation of a complete electrical installation for a 250 man camp including dorms, kitchen, offices and recreation facilities. The main power source was from BC Hydro and included an 800 amp 120/208 volt distribution to the camp equipment.

BV Electric also provided a complete generation container with two new 36KW Kubota Generators. BV Electric completed the project by providing all the technical service for the powerhouse as well.

Prophet River Multiplex - Complete June 2012

Prophet River is a small northern First Nations community just south of Fort Nelson on the Alaska Highway. BV Electric has been contracted to perform all the electrical work on the communities new multi purpose complex.

Meziadin Junction Camp - Complete Fall 2012

This project included providing a complete distribution container complete with two 600A services to feed a 100man camp. BV Electric also completed all the wiring of the modular trailers and permanent structures for the camp.

Meladine Mine Project - Complete May 2011

The Meladine project included the design, layout and installation of a complete electrical system for a 100 man mine camp north of Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. The system included two Cat 800KW 480V generators, wastewater and water treatment equipment, modular kitchen and dorms.

Gunnar Mine Project - Complete May 2011

The Gunnar project included the design, layout and installation of a complete electrical system for a 50 man mine camp in Uranium City, Saskatchewan. The system included two Cat 500KW 480V generators, wastewater and water treatment equipment, modular kitchen and dorms.

Sullivan Motors Building - Complete August 2011

Sullivan Motors is located in Houston, BC and has provided vehicles to BV Electric for over 10years. BV Electric is proud to be involved in the electrical installation of the new “state of the art” sales and service building.

South Hazelton Water Project - Complete August 2011

This project consists of a new water treatment building and all associated controls for monitoring and treatment of the drinking water for the community of South Hazelton, BC.

Klemtu Ferry Terminal Project - Complete August 2011

Klemtu, BC is a small remote First Nations community on the West Coast of BC about five hours south of Prince Rupert. BV Electric has been contracted for all associated electrical work for the installation of a new ferry terminal to service the community.

Hazelton/Gitanmax Water Project - Complete December 2011

This project consists of alterations and additions to the existing water treatment facility for the community of Hazelton, BC. BV Electric will provide all controls, instrumentation and electrical work for the project.
